Sutera‘s pupils win the fifth National Review of Avola’s Theatre

Spettacolo AvolaThe fifth National Review of theatre, music and folklore, held in Avola in province of Siracusa, has ended with a great triumph for Sutera’s elementary school.
The manifestation, which lasted a week,saw the exibition of 1500 pupils from 29 schools from the whole of the national territory. The exibitions evolved in the big auditorium of the Comprehensive Institute "Elio Vittorini" who has as headmaster Sebastiano Rossitto,with huge audiences especially in the last evening.
The review,divided in three section ( theatre,folklore and music) was judged by two giuries: one composed by young students, the other by a commision of theatrical expert and specialists in music and comunication.
The fourth and fifth classes of Sutera’s elementary school,,accompanied by the teachers Pino Landro, Antonella Mazzara, Aurelia Lo Curcio ,Elisabetta Carruba e Calogero Sanfilippo,participated in the review with two projects: "The secret of Blue Town", a comedy written in three acts by the pupils of the fourth year in the ambit of the project "theatrical animation" and "The big Jebel", a story invented by the fifth year children and told following the exemple of the old storysingers.The success arrived during the final evening on the 20th of April, when the comedy "The secret of the Blue Town" was multiprized: both giuries ,infact, assigned to it the first prize in absolute, plus a special prize for the best scenografy with the following motivation: "The work is cared for and is very entertaining and it sends clearly a message for a need of love, of harmony in a world with neverending fights, starting from the family circle to the social life. The little actors proved to be excellent. Greatly taken care of the scenografy and the diction. Wonderful the involvement of the public." A special prize was given to the pupils Raimondo Pardi, Alberto Carruba, Gaspare Montalto Monella, Sergio Di Giovanni and Alessandra Montalto Monella for their brilliant interpretation.
All the actors were praised by the headmaster Rossitto with special praise to the teachers Antonella Mazzara and Pino Landro who magicly directed them. Knowing of the fact that theatrical experience enrichens children,helping them to know and understand different emotions, surpassing the fear of confrontation, favouring enterprise aport from streghtening the level of autovaluation of everybody, the teachers brought forward these activities with great entusiasm, managing to involve even the parents who shared the experience of the class by making the costumes.
Precious was the collaboration of one of the grandfathers,Mr Raimondo Pardi, who recited together with the young actors, proving that school is always more open to families and towards the territory through a work of sinergy.
Foto di Gruppo"The secret of the Blue Town" tells of three children of the town of Tinturia who, tired of watching the inhabitants of their town constantly fighting, decide to go to the Blue Town in search of the elisir for harmony, protected by the sirens.
During the journey, the three children have time to reflect on the important things in life: the value of peace, of culture, the importance of a good eating habit, respect for enviroment and the value of popular wisdom.
After many happenings, the three children manage to obtain the elisir and spray it on the inhabitants of Tinturia who are all together in the piazza to celebrate the patron saint and who all of a sudden stop fighting.
Whilst they are all embracing eachother, the grandfather of one of the children intervens and gives voice to his expirience, bringing magic to an earthly level and propose the only panacea possible capable of fighting hastred: love and the good will of everyone. To represent the elementary school of Sutera, present at the premiation, apart headmistress Carolina Taibi.These are the names of all the participating actors: Federica Alongi, Ilaria Favata, Andrea Grizzanti, Salvatore Ingrascě, Valentina Grizzanti, Onofrio Ippolito, Nicola Lomuzzo, Salvatore Pillitteri, Donatella Sanfilippo,Sonia Territo, Calogero Turone e Gaetano Vitellaro.
